The last Sunday we decided to try the afternoon brunch at Sophia's lounge. It was an amazing experience! If you decide to have afternoon tea, be sure to dress up and book reservations the first Sunday of every month at Sophia's lounge in Charlotte, North Carolina! The atmosphere is perfect for a girls day brunch! We started off with a variety of tea selections. the teas were, amazing they were not cheap at all and you get bottomless tea selections. You get bottomless servings of the savory course my favorite part of the savory course was the smoked salmon on top of cucumbers! They were so tasty! I want to try this at home! Then they had a wonderful whimsical selection of different desserts that you can pick and select on your own. I also like the fact that they offered a variety of mimosa flavors and these can be paid for separately. our service was amazing as well. We truly enjoyed our server who was very friendly and helpful when making any of our selections and she answered every question we had.

I am a huge tea person and will always take the opportunity to have afternoon tea. When I found that they are doing a special afternoon tea menu of course I had to go. The lounge is absolutely beautiful and classy. The decor and service are both top notch. They had a cute photo station set up that made for adorable pictures. Cocktails were good and high quality. The tea tray was excellent. All of the items were well made and I liked the self serve dessert section. I can't wait to come back and do tea here again!

Visited here for happy hour drinks. The ambiance is very "speak easy"-ish. Comfy sofas arranged into conversational areas and a couple of small tables. A fireplace completes the cozy atmosphere. The servers are friendly. The cocktails were DELISH! I had an Old Fashioned and a margarita flatbread - yummy and fresh. I will definitely be back here!

Sleek opulence comes to mind when walking down the grand staircase and entering Sophia's Lounge. This spot is an elevated spot inside Ivey's hotel in uptown Charlotte. It has fantastic cocktails, wines and decadent desserts including that cookie in a skillet that I can't seem to say no to. Turn on the lights and let the sunlight in and we're transported to an elegant breakfast spot. Loved it. I get here every time I stay at the Ivey's Hotel.

Sophia's...okay, let's go. GPS will NOT take you to the front door. I ended up at the side entrance of the hotel but the valet/security guard was helpful and let me walk through the hotel area. I was told on the phone that Valet was $25 but found it the price is actually $20 if you use Cashapp. Booking online was simple enough but nowhere on the website or the "know before you go" is this important detail. I actually was browsing photos and read it on a menu. 22% gratuity is added to checks on parties of five or more. Don't love it but okay. But the kicker is..."checks can only be split in even amounts." What isn't included here is that you can only use a total of three payment methods. That is literally a mess! I would love to hear more about why this policy is effective. Either way, this information should be at the front of your website as it affects planning and possibly your guest list. Onto the food...I do appreciate that you can make any beverage a mocktail. I didn't appreciate that the manager was also serving as the bartender and when we were charged for an additional mocktail-had to eat the cost because of how the bill was split and because the manager was bartending and couldn't tend to us. There are literally two vegetarian items on the menu and the chef can't create anything nor can you sub the items on the menu. That being said, the fries were tasty and you could tell they were fresh. The aioli was a bit thick-personal preference. Everything is designed to be shareable and that is accurate-I took half of my food home. Unfortunately the pizza wasn't worth reheating. It almost seemed undercooked and the sauce lacked flavor. When we tried to order dessert, two of the items were sold out. ‍ The place is absolutely for the vibes. The furniture is ornate and the artwork is beautiful. There's a couch area with fireplace and a beautiful staircase for photos. The bathroom is even very pretty. The service was pretty good but sadly understaffed which affected our experience just a bit. I would go back but maybe just for drinks and dessert.

Swank. Classy. Regal. Sophia's Lounge is not your every day hotel lounge. Come dressed appropriately and be prepared to have an upscale lounge experience. Attached to the fabulous Ivy's Hotel, Sophia's has three entrances; one from the street, the hotel lobby, or from the stairway connected to the upstairs hotel room. During my stay at the Ivys's (see my review here https://tinyurl.com/3d6pwxu7), I stopped into Sophia's each night just so I I could try a new signature cocktail. All were amazing! * Her Majesty * Lady in Waiting * Ivey's Margarita Note that after a certain hour the full menu is no longer served. I forgot what the cut off time but flatbreads are available and are very good! Good food. Good drinks. Excellent service. Fab decor. Check it out! You won't be disappointed.

Came here for a drink before seeing a show at Belk Theatre. The space is beautiful, the drinks were good and the truffle fries were on point. I also enjoyed the tv was on a hallmark movie, so I was easily entertained while at the bar alone! Ha!
